The Castle Inn, July 2000

An impressive Adnams pub situated on a hill just outside the centre and main shopping area of Cambridge. It's a big pub that's been sensitively refurbished with several rooms on different levels and a very pleasant outdoor area where we enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast dinner and pint of Adnams. The garden's a great place to enjoy a beer with friends on a warm day and if you fancy staying inside there are seven or eight drinking areas on two different floors within the pub, some with nice easy chairs.

They offer the full range of Adnams brews, so plenty to choose from, and if you get bored of those then they've some guest beers available too. They do food both at lunchtime and during the evenings. Good pub grub with a decent Sunday lunch served by friendly staff.
