The Trengilly Wartha Hotel, July 1998

A brilliant pub that I came across whilst driving down some country lanes in a hamlet called Nancenoy near Constantine and Falmouth. I can't really describe how to get there other than to offer you the grid reference of it. It really was immaculate inside. Several real ales are on offer with a bias towards local Cornish real ales. You might be lucky to try a local Lizard ale. Definitely recommended by Ant Veal.

I suppose the main reason most people come to the Trengilly Wartha is for the food. To say it has an imaginative menu is an understatement. The food is perhaps a little more expensive than most pubs but is well worth it as it both looked and smelt amazing. Unfortunately I've not eaten there as yet though. They offer bar food as well as have their own restaurant with a non-smoking area in the conservatory. I was shocked at how many wines they had on offer (over a hundred) with a couple of dozen available by the glass. A good pool table in a separate room with a dart board. They've also got a boule piste outside and a large garden with a lake if you fancy a wander around in this peaceful part of Cornwall. Excellent quality accommodation is also available. If you visit their website (see link above) you'll be able to check availability and book online.
