Me outside the pub in June 1997

The home of the Princetown brewery since it was set up in 1994. I've tried two of their beers, Dartmoor IPA (abv. 4.0%) and Jail Ale (abv. 4.8%). Jail Ale is the best to go for having won various awards. Handy 2-pint take-out containers for after hours consumption at the campsite down the road or wherever. A friendly pub with a wide range of good value food allegedly the best in Devon. Two big open fires to keep you warm in the winter. If you like a game of pool they've a good table just off the main bar. Lots of pictures of old Princetown which is of course Britain's highest town at around 400m (1300ft) above sea-level. We were there in early June and it was windy, who knows what it's like in the dead of winter. Don't forget that if you've never seen a brewery you might be lucky and persuade the bar staff to arrange a time to look around the brewery (situated behind the pub) the following day.
