Me outside the Cherry Tree on a
dark winter night in February 2000

Tucked away off the main high street up a narrow side street lies the Cherry Tree. Used to drink at this pub several years ago and then returned in February 2000 to find that it does still have very good quality real ales on offer. The clientele is dominantly students from the University of Kent and Christchurch college with a few locals and visitors like myself though I still call myself a local. Two real ales were on offer including Wadworth 6X though my review on the back of a receipt is a little frayed and cannot read this bit.

Certainly a very lively pub on the Saturday night when we visited with standing room only and dance music from the jukebox. I was very impressed by the beer though and by the relaxed and friendly nature of the bar staff.
