The Wheatsheaf, February 1998

A very comfortable fairly upmarket pub at the southern end of Woodhouse Eaves near Swithland Woods and Bradgate Park. It took us a couple of attempts to find it. There's a tidy bar with open log fires downstairs, a restaurant upstairs and seating outside behind the pub.

They've an excellent selection of real ales on offer with several strong guest beers available too. Foodwise they've everything from sandwiches to very good value ploughmans which is what we had. They've also a good range of main courses which looked very tasty too. They don't do food on Sunday evenings however.

A comfortable pub offering good food and real ale in pleasant rural Leicestershire.
