Another fine drinking establishment to add to this guide. A handful or so miles south-west of Filey it is a another real favourite of mine and is buried in the Yorkshire Wolds village of Weaverthorpe. Firstly a mention about the beer. A couple of guest beers are always on offer. While I was there they had York Brewery's Yorkshire Terrier, perfectly served and a full measure was served too!

A very friendly pub even though clearly full of locals. A good place to stay over with first class B&B. Foodwise there's allsorts on offer at very reasonable prices though they don't serve food on Tuesday evenings and only serve food at lunchtimes on Saturday and Sunday. Lots of locally caught game available all cooked by Susan Richardson, the landlady. They do an excellent Sunday roast too.

Local CAMRA Rural Pub of the Year 1998.
